Website redesign
Your business website is live. Why is it not bringing enquiries?
A UK and US owner's honest checklist: dated design, slow mobile, broken forms, and why AI is not the first fix.
Why is my business website not getting enquiries?
Because visitors cannot do the one thing that matters: contact you easily. The site is often live, but dated, slow on a phone, or the form is broken. That is true for a lot of UK and US company sites I review. They do not need a new product. They need the site they already paid for to work again.
I am Asad. I run Hexify Technologies Ltd, a UK-registered company. Most of the work that comes in, including referrals from the UK, starts the same way: “the website is old” or “it used to bring calls.” AI gets mentioned in the same breath. I almost always look at the live URL first.
What I check on a UK or US business site
I open the live site on a phone, try the contact form, tap the number, and ask whether a stranger would trust you in ten seconds. If any of those fail, enquiries will stay low no matter how much you spend on ads or AI.
- Does it look like a current business, or like 2016?
- Does it load fast enough on mobile that people stay?
- Is the phone number obvious? Does the form submit?
- Can someone tell what you do and who it is for?
- Are hours, location and next step written in plain English?
US owners hit the same issues. Different spelling on the homepage. Same broken form. Same “we will add a chatbot” when the enquiry path is the real problem.
In the UK I also look at whether the company name, location and a way to reach a human are obvious. People still search “[your town] accountant” or “[your trade] London” and then judge you in a few seconds. In the US it is the same with city plus service. If the page looks abandoned, they call the next result.
Why does my website get traffic but no leads?
That is a conversion problem. People arrive, then leave because the message is unclear, the page is slow on a phone, or they cannot call or submit a form. Buying more traffic will not fix it. A healthy UK small-business site often converts around 2 to 5 percent of visits. Below 1 percent, look at the site itself.
Open Search Console and Analytics if you have them. Impressions with no clicks is a title problem. Sessions with no form or call is an on-page problem. I start with the live URL on a phone before I talk about ads, SEO retainers or AI.
Is an outdated website killing my leads?
Yes, if people bounce before they call. An outdated look signals neglect. Slow pages do the same. You do not need a famous brand. You need the site to feel safe enough to send a message.
I do not tell owners to burn the domain and start over. You keep the name you already rank for. We modernise design, speed, mobile and the path from visit to call. That is website redesign, not a vanity rebuild.
Should I add AI to get more enquiries?
Not first. If the site is slow or the form fails, a chatbot sits on top of a leak. Fix the base. Then we can add chat or lead capture if it will actually help.
That sequence is how Hexify works: review, maintain, redesign if needed, then AI. I will say so on a 30-minute call if AI is the wrong spend this month.
Ads do not fix this either. Paid traffic to a slow, confusing site just pays for bounces. Fix the live URL first. Then spend on ads if you still need volume.
What should I do this week?
Send yourself a test enquiry from your phone. Note load time, how many taps it takes to call, and whether the form replies. Those three notes are enough to start a proper site review.
If you want a second pair of eyes, send the live URL. I reply with a clear next step: a maintenance plan, a redesign, or wait on AI. UK hours. We work with USA owners too.
Questions people ask
Why is my business website not getting enquiries?
Usually the site is live but dated, slow on mobile, or the form and phone number are hard to find. Visitors bounce before they can contact you. Fix the live site first. AI comes after.
Do I need a brand new website?
Not always. Most UK and US businesses can keep the domain and improve what they have: design, speed, forms and the path from visit to call.
Why does my website get traffic but no leads?
Visitors arrive and cannot easily contact you, or they do not trust the page. Fix mobile speed, messaging and the form before buying more traffic or adding a chatbot.
Should I add a chatbot to get more leads?
Not if the site is slow or confusing. A chatbot on a broken website does not bring better enquiries. Make the site work, then add AI if it helps.
