When should a business add AI to its website?

When the site already loads well, explains what you do, and can take a call or a form. Then chat, lead capture or a small internal tool can help. If the website is dated or broken, AI is the wrong first spend.

Owners in the UK and the US ask me for a chatbot the way they used to ask for a new logo. It feels modern. It is also easy to bolt onto a site that still loses people on mobile. I built Hexify around the opposite order: website first, then AI.

Do I need an AI chatbot on my company website?

Only if your team answers the same questions every day and a human can still take over. A chatbot is not a substitute for a clear phone number, a working form, or trust.

Good uses: opening hours, service list, “how do I book”, capturing a name and number after hours. Bad uses: inventing prices, medical advice, or legal claims. We put guardrails on anything we ship. See AI on your website.

UK owners often worry about what the bot will say. They should. If it cannot stay on your real services, hours and contact path, do not put it live. US owners ask the same thing with after-hours capture. Both markets need a human handoff, not a wall of generated text.

What should come before AI?

A site review. Speed, mobile, forms, and a sentence that says who you help. Maintenance so it stays that way. Then we decide if AI will move enquiries or just decorate the page.

I will tell you on a call if you should wait. That is not a sales trick. Putting chat on a slow, confusing site makes the business look worse, not smarter.

Will AI replace staff on a small UK or US team?

No. Used properly it takes repeat questions and night-time capture. Your people still sell, treat patients, or close the job. Anyone promising a full replacement is selling a deck.

How do I know if we are ready?

If a stranger on a phone can understand you and contact you in under a minute, you are ready to talk about AI. If they cannot, send the URL for a site review first.

Hexify Technologies Ltd is UK registered. We work with USA owners on the same path. One senior engineer on the work. No junior bait-and-switch.

Questions people ask

When should a business add AI to its website?

After the site is fast, clear and can take an enquiry. Then chat, lead capture or a small internal tool can help. AI on a broken site wastes money.

Do UK and US businesses need a chatbot?

Only if people ask the same questions every day and you can hand off to a human. Many owners need the contact path fixed first.

Will AI replace my receptionist?

No. Used well it answers repeat questions and captures leads. People still close the work.
